Explosions&Fire
Приєднався 24 вер 2017
Home chemistry, where we try and investigate the cutting edge of modern explosives science, talk about some of the classics of the energetics field and just generally shitpost.
Explosions&Fire(1) ran from 2011-2017, with over 90 videos on various chemistry and energetics, before we got 3 community guideline strikes in 2 hours, for putting children in danger (ourselves from 2011) and spam (seriously).
But we are back! For as long as we can!
The base for this channel is now trying to be on Reddit: www.reddit.com/r/ExplosionsAndFire/
That way, if we have to move elsewhere, we don't lose the community. So check that place out and subscribe there too, you friend.
There's also a rad discord for this channel now! The biggest** (unverified) chemistry discord, it's a great community!! discord.gg/VR6Fz9g
Extractions&Ire is the 'second channel' of this me, Tom. Hello. You can subscribe there for more detailed synths of things that wont necessarily blow up at the end of it!

I know this is an old video but I have to say this! You, my friend need to lay off of the CAFFIENE and stay away from chemicals until you do!
Did you see your boy grimmace throwing out the first pitch at a baseball game? the best part is he went to shake off the pitch but had to shake his whole body because he has no neck,
The fact you tagged out your ozone machine completely goes against everything about chemistry in a shed 😂 Love it😂😂😂😂
"(I had no idea what this step meant??)".... You've never seen someone light a flare?... You take the cap and flare, place the ends together, then push the cap away from you. It generates friction between the ignition surfaces and starts the chemical/physical reaction that lights the flate.. I gotta ask... Have you never watched Jurrasic Park?.. Indiana Jones?.. Any film where someone uses a signal/road flare?
In other news: Man makes McDonalds even less edible
Something came to me: You could probably use the vacuum pump to help the nitration mix penetrate into the chips/ whatnot more thoroughly. Same basic principle as fancy restaurants use to pickle things / infuse things more quickly. Just a thought for if you'd ever want to revisit this cursed topic.
Gonna see how much urea is in adblue
Purple chemistry 👍🏻 Yellow chemistry 👎🏻
@1:54 just like my last girlfriend
I was really routing 4 8th base.. Maybe next time. 🦋😊
I've worked with 35% in industrial settings, that stuff Iis no joke. I can't imagine how 95 would be.
why do you sound so... educated here?
Do you feel like a hero yet?
Regarding recycling plastics. It was a lie from the start. From the moment when the oil companies decided to market their production waste as a new product, they knew that disposal of plastics would be a problem. That is why they came up with promotion of recycling despite knowing full well that it will never be even close to commercially viable. It is hard to financially compete with the waste products of one of the largest industries in the world. One side wants to get rid of it and would give plastic away for free, and the other side has to segregate and process it. You simply need large government subsidies to make recycling plastic viable. The saddest part of it all is the fact that we already had in place a perfectly recyclable material widely in use. Glass is much cheaper to recycle than to produce anew. Everyone was recycling glass bottles by working on a deposit system where you paid a bit extra for the product in a bottle and you could get it back if you returned the empty bottle to a store. That system was completely broken by the introduction of plastic bottles. Now everything is in "recyclable" plastic (which is cheaper than glass) and the glass bottle market shrank to the point that the deposit system is no longer viable.
If you want to set the titanium on fire you could use something like that styropyro device with 100 car batteries in parallel. I don't know if you will set it on fire, but you can use it to achieve pretty much any temperatures you want and, more importantly, concentrate that temperature in the metal rather than in the surrounding environment like with thermite.
I think a cool idea would be to combine it with like potassium nitrate so the sulfur will turn to sulfur dioxide and even more nitrogen will form
Isn’t that like the technology connections end a video theme 7:51
10:19 Tell me you’re Australian without saying you’re Australian
Commenting on a 4-year-old video to say that yes, blue is the opposite of yellow.

Acetone and peroxide? Heard of “the mother of satan” she is a fickle bitch.
Did you mix the “piranha solution” with acetone? Lol. Yeah I bet you did.
Plastics and “Evidencd for large planetary climate altering thermonuclear explosions on mars in the past” 😂😂😂 I laughed so hard.
Hello. How to make: Lead 2,4,6-Trinitro-3-Oxybenzoate ? It does'n work by some reasons.

The dioxide is common. It MUST BURN.
I like that the only one that tastes passable is NOT the one used as a salt substitute
Wow, extremely entertaining! I would have ended the presentation or at least fast forward, but the guy is so crazy fun, that I couldn't miss a step, LoL.
9:25 this was really cool
Flares do not expire I demonstrate pyrotechnics from generations ago on my channel every day, and they all work perfectly fine as long as they were stored correctly, it’s true things like whistle mixtures can have short shelf if they are not made in a shelf stable way, but in most cases pyrotechnic devices that say they’ve expired will work just fine even a generation later. BTW LOVE THIS CHANNEL!
You burned the tungsten.
The moment I realized Tom was going to try to make ice cream flammable, I laughed so hard I started crying. What a joyous and silly video.
Yeah yeah yeah mister fancy pants over here ... But... Do you know or rather have you ever actually seen what happens when you inject hydrogen peroxide directly into your main vein in your arm?...do you know bout that mister science guy?...cuz I can tell you exactly what will prolly happen should you...inject hydrogen peroxide into your vein...directly...with a syringe...and some meth mixed in with it...which is prolly what saved the patients life...

Oh yeah I'm a physisist,how'd you know?
Finally! We've decided to simply bring the sun to earth instead of waiting 8 minutes for the sun to wander on over to our solar panels. Thank you yellow chemistry.
This is a top tier episode. Thank you.
Me and my buddy used to use thin strips of magnesium to ignite thermite, we did it just for fun and to truely destroy HDDs before throwing them away into the recycling bin.
It's shocking how easy it is to make nitrogen triiodide
